What does high school track and field consist of?

I have to help my cousin write an essay on track and field, and neither of us really know the difference between high schoo!l track and field and olympic track and field. please help!!!|||There isn't a difference in the two, they consist of the same events. The only a difference in the records that are being broken.|||There's not much of a difference. In high school there's:

-100 meter(just a straight-a-way)

-200 meter( a straight-a-way and a curve)

-400 meter(one lap)

-400 meter relay (4 people, all run one lap)

-800 meter relay (4 people, two run one lap)

-1600 meter relay (4 people, each runs one lap)

-800 meter(2 laps)

-1600 meter(a mile or 4 laps)

-high jump

-long jump

-pole vault

-hurdles

-shot put

The only real difference is that the people in the Olympics are WAY faster. But you probably know that :)
