Im outta high school and about to start college but i am overly stressed over what job i want. I just want a high paying job and i was looking into being a technician. But i dont know if thats a good high paying job. Any suggestions?|||Take an aptitude test to find out what areas you are best in. Your HS counselor can give you one.
Also, if you are no longer being helped by the HS, try a community college and take your general required classes and see about an aptitude test there. It used to be free to take tests that helped you figure out your best areas.|||Shoot for the moon - look into radiology (if you like science).|||Yeah, you could take something easy like xray technician, but also computers pay well. I'd start with database programming as perhaps easier than programming or just straight programming and add database if you like it. Eventually you will have to know several languages anyway. Of course database administrator is easier yet, if you like people. If you're like me you just don't like work. It's a matter of getting into something and then I always like it when I get good at it. I have to admit programming is pretty stressful. Most high paying jobs are. You might prefer working with graphics. I can hardly imagine anyone not going into something relating to computers. Although I can NOT speak from experience on website management, I would think that would be pretty all around. If you work for a company, you have people around, air conditioning and all that. You can branch out to your own business or earn money on your own website and learn some programming like HTML or what in the process.
Look up Emotional Intelligence and intuition for that stress. I will save you the trouble looking up Cognitive Therapy. C T is basically that all your feelings have thoughts behind them. Change the thoughts and you change the feelings. Throw in a word change, like dropping negative judgmental phrases and words and you can't be stressed so easily. Also that and all this develops your intuition. We stress because we have more than we can handle consciously, but the subconscious works literally a million times faster with vision logic. I learned from experience and then learned why it works.
Intuition is really the secret to life. Look at all the people who say so, like, well everyone famous. Einstein, "The only real valuable thing is intuition." Oprah, "I use my intuition." and me, "Intuition is everything." Or Obama and Bush saying they go with their gut reaction. I think of intuition as that still small voice. Obviously you have to test your intuitions sometimes to keep them on track. I think we fool ourselves sometimes that it's intuition instead of really our programming coming out, but real intuitions get around our programming to whole brain thinking, the ticket to the 21ST century and beyond and all it's complexities.
We hear so many things and pass over them quickly, but really, Einstein and Niels Bohr weren't selling anything by crediting intuition. Einstein's statement about intuition is probably the most profound statement he ever made. Why not use the pronouncement of thousands of years of results of all the greats in history? Or just pass it off, like most people. sigh
